I've just started a blog on my return to cello after a career change (I started a publishing business in Melbourne, Australia in 2004). I happened on your blog and I am really enjoying it. There's a lot of passion and love for the instrument going on here!
I just discovered that I have the quartet version of Adagio for Strings. It is included in "More Cellobrations." And it is much, much easier!
Part 1 is almost entirely in bass clef, moving into tenor clef for only 4 measures. It is in 2 sharps. It is written in 4/4 time. I haven't compared it to the score, but part 4 (what would be the cello part in the full version) is simplified. Part 2 is even simpler. Part 3 is more interesting. All the challenges of the orchestra version are removed. Yes, we can play this.

It might be very difficult, but would be great fun to play. This might be the version that WBCC did several years ago.
Sure, let's try it. You take part 1!

Alfred.
Actually, I see Maricello playing first on this one!
Hi Alfred, Thanks so much for your comment! I enjoyed reading your blog too, and listening to you play the cello. You sound great!

Thanks for the quartet music. It looks great!

I am looking forward to trying it out with you--after the orchestra concert in May.
